Zella Elizabeth “Betty” Talbot, age 94, entered into rest on May 18, 2024 at Prosser Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 25, 1930 to John Edwin and Estelle (Green) Lightle. She was raised and educated in Prosser and graduated from Prosser High School with the class of 1948. After her marriage to Charles Talbot in Prosser on August 22, 1948, they lived in Seattle for three years until moving back to Prosser to raise their family.
Betty was a secretary for Moore and Mellor for twelve years and then worked for Benton County for eight years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, Republican Women’s Club, the 30-70 Dance Club and was very involved in the PTA. She retired in the mid 90’s and enjoyed sewing, oil and tole painting, gardening and hosting parties.
Betty is survived by her son, Michael Talbot and wife, Jan of Prosser; daughter, Shelley Overman of Camano Island; grandchildren, Stacy Gonzales (Louis) of Spokane, Brett Talbot (Becky) of Wilsonville, OR; Garth Overman (Nancy) of Lynnwood, WA, Karly Doble (Tony) of Surprise, AZ; and beloved nieces and nephews, Zoe and Noah, Kann, Remington, Niyah and Elias Doble, Zarra Overman and Ben Talbot. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles and several nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on May 31, 2024 at the Prosser Cemetery. A Celebration of Berry’s life will be held at a later date.
