Taylor Neal Morris, age 86, entered into rest on January 22, 2015 at his home in Prosser.
He was born on August 17, 1928 in Bowie County Texas to John Hartwell Morris and Mary Ivey (Stone Morris. He was raised and educated in Simms, Texas. At the age of 25 he moved to Portland, Oregon where he worked in a plywood mill. While in Portland, he met his future wife, Betty Jean Radach and they were married on January 10, 1964 in Prosser where the couple made their home.
Taylor owned and operated B&B Little Stinker excavation and septic business for 30 years. He retired in the early 1990’s and raised cattle, donkeys, pigs, horses (along with breaking and training them), llamas, ostriches, emus, chickens, miniature donkeys, peacocks, turkeys,ducks, pheasants, doves, pigeons. The farm kept the children busy and off the streets.
Taylor was a member of the Cattlemen’s Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and giving the kids rides in the donkey cart. His home was always open to anyone. He was a true family man he worked hard to make ends meet. He especially loved when the family would get together weather it was to work the cows or for the holidays. It was common at the Morris home for 60 to 80+ people family and friends to be there and all were welcome.
Taylor is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Morris of Prosser; his children, Joyce Shelton of Beatty, Nevada, Thelma Barnhart ( Neal) of Prosser, David Morris of Portland, Robert Morris of Seattle, Merry Baker of Portland, Roger Morris , Gordon Morris , Fredrick Morris of Prosser; Donald Morris,(Gayle) of Eugene, Oregon; Bonnie Brown,( Douglas) of Prosser, Linda Luther,(Martin) of Whitstran, Taylor Neal Morris Jr. of Olympia and Elizabeth Mieirs,(Jason) of Prosser. He is also survived by thirty-eight grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five children, Kenneth Neal Morris, Joseph Morris, Nancy Sue Morris, Carol Ann Morris and Jeffrey Morris; one brother and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30 at Bethel Church in Prosser. Concluding services and burial will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 29 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Prosser Funeral Home.
