Sandra June Mortimore, 72, entered into rest on May 29, 2016 at her home in Prosser. She was born on
August 15, 1943 to James W. Glossip and Geradine (Clark) Glossip in Bakersfield,
California. She was raised in Bakersfield California and graduated from Bakersfield High
School in 1961. Sandra and Dennis Mortimore were married on November 29, 1974 in Lake
Tahoe, Nevada and then made their home in Prosser and grew apples, cherries and hay.
Sandra worked for the Prosser School District as a bus driver, the Benton County Auditor’s
Office, Korvola Insurance Agency, and The Barn Restaurant and Motel until retiring.
Sandra and Dennis enjoyed traveling and vacationing in Arizona during the cold winter months for
nineteen years. She also enjoyed quad riding, crocheting, square dancing and singing. She especially
enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adeline’s and volunteering at HOBB’S Benefit Shop
for many years. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Prosser Post and the
Prosser Eagle’s. Her favorite flower was the Snap Dragon and her favorite colors were black and red.
Sandra is survived by her husband of forty two years, Dennis of Prosser; four children, Kim
Murray and husband, Jake of Prosser, Chantilla Mortimore of Pasco, Linda Christensen and
husband, Brian of Richland and Joey Peschong of Richland; seven grandchildren; and nine great
grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Dusty.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Prosser Eagle’s followed
by a potluck. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Valley Hospice.
