Rosmarie Swanson, age 84, passed away at Grandview Health Care on June 25, 2012 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on May 5, 1928 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Floyd and Emma (Hartley) Hollingshead. She lived in Benton City for 49 years until she moved to Prosser. She later moved to Grandview Health Care where she lived for 4 years.

She was a Sunday school teacher and parishioner at Benton City Assembly of God for over 50 years. Rosmarie worked at JJ Newberry at the candy counter where she was affectionately known as “Candy Lady.” She also worked at a cannery in Yakima.

Rosmarie is survived by her son, Floyd Swanson and wife, Pat; one brother; 4 grandkids; 11 great-grandkids; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister and her ex-husband, Charles Swanson.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Benton City. At her request, there will be no services. There will be a celebration of her life for friends and family at Howard Amon Park in Richland on July 15 at 11:00 am.
The family asks that people bring a balloon to release at the park in memory of Rosmarie.
