Roberto M. Gutierrez
April 16, 1915 to November 26, 2011
In loving memory of Roberto M. Gutierrez who was born on April 16, 1915 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. He married his beloved wife Victoria Pule Gutierrez in April of 1945 and together in 1962 they brought their family to Washington State. He and our mother raised eight children together before she passed away in the year 1991.
His life was devoted to raising his family and working in agriculture. In 1972, he bought his farm in Prosser, which consisted of vineyards. With the help of his family he harvested grapes for the next 30 plus years until moving to Kennewick in 2005.
In the year of 2010 our father Roberto was diagnosed with dementia and for the next year was living in an assisted living facility. Our father Roberto M. Gutierrez passed away on Saturday November 26, 2011 being reunited with his wife.
Roberto is survived by his eight children; Maria Gutierrez Esparza and her husband Eddie of Rochester, WA, Roberto Gutierrez of Yakima, Victor Gutierrez of Pasco, Norma Gutierrez Sabala and her husband Martin of Kennewick, Dora Gutierrez of Kent, Ricardo Gutierrez and his wife Mary of Bellevue, Lydia Gutierrez Skinner of and her husband James of Everett, Martha Gutierrez of Kennewick. He is also survived by his 26 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Victoria, his siblings Maria De La Luz Hernandez, Ramon Gutierrez and Arturo Gutierrez, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 at Prosser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery. Prosser Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
