Robert W. Cox

d. December 28, 2012

Robert W. Cox was born September 20, 1929 to Sanders and Clara (Johnson) Cox in Colfax, Washington. He passed away on December 28, 2012 at his home in Benton City.

Robert loved farming, hunting, fishing, world traveling, camping, skiing and dancing.
There were no strangers to Robert, just friends that he hadn’t met yet. He was a genuine person that would give anybody the shirt off of his back.

Robert was dyslexic, which he overcame with hard work and created a very successful life and empire.

He attended Prosser Schools with the class of 48. He then joined the US Army in January of 1952, as a member of the ski team, guarding the borders of Austria.

In 1955, Robert married Ruby Judkins, and they moved to Whitcomb Flats by Paterson, Washington where they farmed watermelons and raised their seven children.

In 1966, the family moved to Badger Canyon where Robert built himself and his family their dream home. Robert and his family continued the farming legacy that still continues to this day.

Robert was a member of the Benton City Lions Club for many years. Also in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he spent his retirement winters, he was a member of the Christian Church and enjoyed helping the under-privileged children. Every Sunday, after church services, Robert would take the children out for ice cream. He also built the children a basketball court.
