Richard H. Pearson, age 76, Prosser, entered into Heaven on November 30, 2011 at Prosser Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 8, 1935 in Grandview, Washington to Joseph Henry and Pearl Mildred (Ragsdale) Pearson. He was a lifelong Prosser resident.
Richard married the love his life, Nadine Bennett, on June 17, 1956 in Prosser
Richard spent several years as a Prosser Policeman and also a Prosser School District bus driver. Later, in the 1960’s, he started farming with his brother, William on the Horse Heaven Hills. Along with farming, he was a volunteer fireman for the Horse Heaven Hills Fire District #5.
Richard is survived by his son, Troy Pearson & wife, Phyllis of Prosser and their children, Jeff Pearson and wife, Nicole of Umatilla, OR, Kyle Pearson and wife, DeeDee of Pomeroy and Danielle Anderson and husband, Ben of Kennewick; his son, Tracy Pearson and wife Kori and their children, Hillary, Lane, Hayleigh and Logan Pearson, all of Prosser; his daughter, Sheri Gilbert and husband, Jason and their son, Jeremy Gilbert and his girlfriend, Katie Lopez, all of Prosser; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner and Tyson: his sisters, Virginia Heggen and husband, Richard of Sheldahl, Iowa, Beatrice Galbreath of Prosser, Kathryn Miller of Grandview and Faye Burgan and husband, Mark of Brookville, IN; and his brothers, Fraiser Squire and wife, Patty of Richland and Gordon Squire of Metaline. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nadine in 2002; and his brothers, Edward and William Pearson.
A funeral service for Richard will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Prosser. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Horse Heaven Community Hall. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 2 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Prosser Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Horse Heaven Community Club c/o Prosser Funeral Home.
