Rebeca Ramirez Soto

d. May 16, 2015

Rebeca Ramirez Soto, age 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 16, 2015. Rebeca was born on May 27, 1951, in Sunnyside to Domingo and Elida Ramirez. She is survived by her husband, Jose, whom she married on May 14, 1977; daughter, Samantha (John) Markus and son, Adrian (Tara); grandchildren, Kylie, Gracie, Allie, Sophia, Evan; and great grandson, Clint.
Rebeca grew up in Toppenish and graduated from Toppenish High School in 1969. She was known by family and friends for her hospitality, generosity and excellent cooking skills. For those reasons her home became a favorite destination for her nieces and nephews. Her home later became a special place known as Nana’s house to her grandchildren. She truly enjoyed raising her two children, spending time with her grandchildren, being a homemaker and gardening with her husband Jose. She was a skilled seamstress and could make anything from doll clothes to wedding dresses.
Rebeca was a member of the Prosser Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved talking to others about Jehovah God and the wonderful promises of a better future found in the Bible. Her faith sustained her during her illness and contributed to her positive attitude.
Rebeca worked at the Toppenish School District, Safeway, CCCS and Labbee Mint.
Also surviving are her siblings, Bjes, Domingo Jr., Oscar, Ismael, Greg Ramirez, Caroline Martinez, Rosie Botello, Rita Anaya and Raquel Perez. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015, 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 330 Nunn Rd, Prosser.
