Patricia Ruth “Pat” Paulson passed away October 5, 2022 in Richland, Washington. She was
82.
She was born May 10, 1940 in Hollywood California. She lived with her mother and
grandmother until she had her first child.
In 1958 she moved to Washington where she met and married Herb Lightle. They had one son.
After separating, she moved to the Tri-Cities where she met and married Dale Bigham. Between
them they raised 7 children while building two successful small businesses. They bred, raised
and trained race horses that ran at tracks around the Northwest. She was proud of the winning
record that her horses built. Dale and Pat were married 31 years, until his passing.
In 1999 Pat met Ken Paulson. They were married October, 21, 2000. Together they bred and
raced Thoroughbred race horses. They received numerous awards from the Washington Horse
Breeders Association for their work. They enjoyed traveling and seeing the sights around the
country. Ken passed in 2020.
Pat is survived by her children and step-children Gary Bigham, Balinda Buechler, Michael
Lightle, Charles Bigham, and Shane Bigham. She has 18 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands Dale Bigham, and Ken Paulson; and by children
Jeannine Ludtke, Debra Hollett, Tamara Paulson, and Mark Pauson.
A combined celebration of life for Pat and Ken will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 16114 N. Gibbon Pl, Prosser, WA 99350. Contact Shane Bigham with questions at [email protected] .
