Norma J. Waliser, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2012 at her home in Benton City with her son, John, by her side. She was born in Bend, Oregon on May 5, 1933 to Wesley and Sharon Doering. Norma met Jacob “Jack” Paul Waliser in 1962 and they were married on July 31, 1965 in Kennewick. She worked as a cashier for many years.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church. Norma loved spending time with her family, especially her only grandson Seth. Her other great love was to travel in her RV with her family.
Norma is survived by her sons, John Waliser, David Hartley and Donald Hartley; her brother Darrel Doering; step-children, Mark Waliser and Debra Mann Waliser; and grandson, Seth Waliser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob “Jack’ Waliser in 2004, with whom she is now reunited. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Benton City. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery, with a reception following at the church. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church with Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Prosser Funeral Home at PO Box 409, Prosser, WA 99350 to help with funeral expenses.
