Mona L. Skinner, age 69 of Benton City, entered into rest on June 22, 2015 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. She was born on March 29, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Washington
to Price and Pearl (Edwards) Loveless. She was raised and educated in Grandview and graduated from Grandview High School with the Class of 1964. Mona met the love of her life, Jim Skinner, and they were married on May 3, 1969 in Grandview where they made their first home. They lived in Burbank for nine years and in 1980 made their home in Benton City. Mona worked for the Benton City School District for over ten years before retiring due to illness.
Mona loved flowers, baking, reading and horses. She also enjoyed collecting kerosene lanterns. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Benton City and a member of Anchor Point Southern Baptist Church in Grandview.
Mona is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Jim Skinner of Benton City; brother, Larry Loveless and wife, Kim of Yakima; sisters, Wendy Lanier and Susan Zitka, both of Sedro Wooley; brothers-in-law, Tracy Sikes and wife, Cheryl of New Meadows, Idaho, Jerry Sikes and wife, Yvonne of Sunnyside, Earl Skinner and wife, Sharon of Kuna, Idaho, Frank Skinner and wife, Margie of Meridian, Idaho, and Paul Skinner of Burns, Oregon; sister-in-law Linda Hackett and husband, Tony of Burns, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-laws, Donald and Kenneth Skinner.
A Celebration of Mona’s Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Kadlec Hematology and Oncology Center.
