Mark Buckley, 42, of Federal Way, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Moscow, Idaho to Bill and Patsy (McDowell) Buckley. He was raised on Mercer Ranches in Prosser and graduated from Prosser High School in 1988. He then served in the US Navy for five years and received training as an Ordnance Officer at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. He then flew on the P3 Orion during Desert Storm. After his discharge, he attended the University of Idaho and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and at the same time, earned his Pilot Instrument Rating. Mark worked as a pilot instructor at Galvin Flying Service in Seattle and then flew the Q400 Series for Horizon for five years. He was currently working for GE Aviation.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Buckley of Federal Way; his mother, Patsy Mercer of Prosser; his father, Bill Buckley (Pam) of Potlatch, Idaho; his sisters, Lisa Cramer of Post Falls, Idaho and Julie Mercer of Santa Barbara, CA; brothers, Robert (Brenda) Mercer and Willis (Piper) Mercer, all of Richland; his grandmother, Lulu McDowell of Lewiston, Idaho; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Louise Zmuda; his brother-in-law, Jay Zmuda (Noelle); and his beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
