Margie Ann Shaw, age 67, entered into rest on December 27, 2011 at her home in Prosser with loved ones at her side. She was born on November 4, 1944 in Alturas, California to Horace Lincoln and Wilma Marjorie (Caldwell) Root. She was raised and educated in Medford, Oregon and graduated from Phoenix High School in 1962.
Margie first met her future husband, James J. Shaw when she was nine. They reconnected later, when she was 27, and were married in Fort Hood, Texas on October 11, 1972 where they lived until moving to Anchorage, Alaska in 1977. In 1980, they moved to Fort Ord, California where they lived for two years before moving to Kent, Washington. In 1986, Margie lived in Medford for two years while James served in Korea. When he returned, they lived in Everett until settling in Prosser in September of 2007.
Margie enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing and cooking, especially holiday meals for the family.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Shaw; her children, David Ray Harper (Tabby) of Seattle, Rejoyce Hope Smith, Jonathan L. Harper, both of Prosser, Daniel J. Shaw, Samuel J. Shaw, both of Lynnwood, Rebekah A. Wixon (Jordan) of Tacoma and Benjamin J. Shaw of Lynnwood; 6 grandchildren; her brother, Bill Root of Albany, Oregon; and sister, Elva Louise Jackson of Medford, Oregon.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Prosser. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Prosser Funeral Home.
