Kirk Andrew Miller was born 57 years ago in Long Beach, California on March 15, 1958 to Curtis Andrew and Peggy Jean (Amick) Miller. He was called to heaven unexpectedly on January 19, 2016 with Snoopy, his dog, by his side at home in Seneca, South Carolina.
The family moved from Fontana, California to Stanwood, Washington in 1967 and then to Prosser in 1973. He graduated from Prosser High School in 1976. He then attended CBC in Pasco and received his computer programmer degree. He found a job in Seattle and lived there for many years. After getting laid off, nine years ago, he decided that he wanted to see the country before he retired. He worked one year in Dallas, Texas and then found a job in Columbia, South Carolina where he lived for six years. He moved to Seneca, South Carolina and had been working there for the last there three years. At the time of his death, he was looking for a job in St. Louis, Missouri or Seattle to move closer to his family.
Even though he was not here whenever we needed help, he helped. Financially or whatever we needed. He helped his one and only nephew, Mark L. Miller, with his education. Kirk was very quiet but very independent.
We saw him in St. Louis in December, 2015. He met his great-nephew, Zachary and great-niece, Annabelle. He enjoyed his visit with us.
Kirk is survived by his sister, Christina A. Miller of Prosser, her son and his nephew, Mark L. Miller and wife, Rebecca of St. Louis, Missouri and their son, Zachary and daughter, Annabelle; his sister, Lynn P. Hall and her husband, Dana of Prosser; his aunts, Marie Natermus of Federal Way, Washington and Helen and Janice Amick of Weeping Water, Nebraska; his uncles, Earl Miller and wife, Dot of Renton, Washington and Pete Bonofiglio of California; lots of cousins; and his dog, Snoopy who now is at home in Prosser .
He was preceded in death by our mother, Peggy, on January 2, 2015; our father, Curtis, in 2003; his sister, Jacquelyn Miller, on September 29, 2015; his grandparents, Harry and Jessica Miller and Sterling and Mata Amick; his uncles, Vern, Charles, Sterling and Delano Amick and Kenny Miller; and his aunts, Muriel Amick and Martha Bonofiglio, who died on October 19, 2015.
Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Out West Pet Rescue, 424 Wine Country Road in Prosser.
