Juan Bahena Salgado, 43, of Prosser, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Prosser Memorial Hospital.
He was born on June 24, 1970 to Juan and Leonor (Bahena) Salgado in Guerrero, Mexico. In 1977, the family settled in Chicago, Illinois where he was raised and educated and loved playing basketball. In Chicago, he did factory work until moving to Prosser in 1991 where he met his future wife, Sara Olivera. Juan and Sara were married in Prosser on January 22, 1995 and the couple raised two children.
Juan worked for Yakima Valley Manufacturing in Sunnyside for four years and for the past fifteen years, worked for Chervenell Construction in Kennewick. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser and loved watching soccer.
He is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Sara Salgado; his sons, Jason Salgado and Juan Omar Salgado all of Prosser; his sisters, Antonia Ocampo of Georgia, Maria Magana of Prosser, Ino Campos of Chicago, Carmen Salgado of Georgia, Elicet Armenta of Benton City; his brother, Marcial Salgado of Prosser; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Prosser Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5th. Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Prosser Funeral Home.
