Jim was born in Coalinga, California to Everett and Margaret Mayberry. At age 5, along with his baby sister and parents, Jim moved to Venezuela, S.A.

Jim attended Boles Military Academy and graduated from Florida State University. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and graduated Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

Jim lived in California and went on to own and operate several restaurants, deli and catering company. Upon retirement (which lasted only a few weeks), Jim opened a highly successful property management company, providing interim housing and services to corporate executives and high profile sports and movie professionals.

Jim was known for his gentle spirit, fun loving nature, keen sense of humor and incredibly beautiful smile. He loved to travel and would “take off” on a moment’s notice. He had a love for music and participated in many amateur productions in the Bay area. In May of 2012, Jim moved to Prosser to reside with his family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Susan Reams and his brother-in-law Cliff; nieces, Heidi DeVriend (Dan), Sondra Reams, and Whitney Reams; nephew, Jeremy Russell (Kalisa); as well as grandnephews, Trevor Day (Shannon), Mason DeVriend, Anothony Reams, CJ and Michael Kima; grandnieces, Riley DeVriend and Bella Garfein; many great grandnieces and nephews; and the family’s loving friend and care giver, Luisa Marquez.
