Jacqueline Miller

d. September 29, 2015

Jacquelyn Andrea Miller was born 59 years ago in San Bernardino, California on May 25, 1956 to Curtis Andrew and Peggy Jean (Amick) Miller. She was called home to heaven to be with the Lord, very peacefully in her sleep, on September 29, 2015 after a long illness. She fought hard for eight years.

The family moved from Fontana, California to Stanwood in 1967 and then to Prosser in 1973. She was a farmer and loved and enjoyed all her animals – dogs, cats, cows and sheep. They raised sheep, cattle and alfalfa. Daddy let her keep three cows, as pets, since birth. They were Junior, Bambi and Pidjum. She is with Jr. and Bambi now. They all lived to be in their twenty’s. Pidjum is still with us. The family moved from Fontana, California to Stanwood, Washington in 1967. Jackie enjoyed her life on the farm.

Our father was a teacher and park ranger in the summer months. She enjoyed the summers with family at the Grand Canyon North Rim, Olympic and Glacier National Parks. They were twelve wonderful summers.

She was a nurturer. She took good care of our parents, her siblings and brother-in-law. She took care of her one nephew, Mark L. Miller. They were pals. Even when he comes home, she made sure that she made his favorite meals, cookies, zucchini bread and cake. She was really proud of Mark. She enjoyed taking care of him. She met Mark’s son, Zachary, and enjoyed her time with him. She made sure that we all had good meals since she loved to cook.

She was a librarian clerk for 12 years in the Prosser Library. She enjoyed it even though there were times when she was ill in the last eight years. She did not want to quit. Unfortunately, she had to in January, 2015. We want to thank the staff of Prosser Library for working with her.

She loved reading, gardening and traveling. There were lots of ups and downs but there were also lots of laughter, fun and adventures. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

Jackie is survived by her sisters, Christina a. Miller, Lynn P. Hall and brother-in-law, Dana of Prosser; brother, Kirk A. Miller of South Carolina; nephew, Mark L. Miller and wife, Rebecca of St. Louis, Missouri and their son, Zachary and, soon to be born in November, a great niece; her aunts, Marie Natermes of Federal Way, WA, Helen Amick and Janice Amick of Weeping Water, Nebraska, Martha Bonofiglio (Pete) of California; her uncle, Earl Miller (Dot) of Renton, WA; and lots of cousins. She was preceded in death by our mother, Peggy, on January 2, 2015; our father, Curtis, in 2003; grandparents, Harry and Jessica Miller, Sterling and Mata Amick; uncles, Vern, Charles, Sterling and Delano Amick and Kenny Miller; and aunt, Muriel Amick

Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Out West Pet Rescue, 424 Wine Country Road in Prosser
