Irvin Edward Stone, life-long Prosser resident, passed away on Wednesday Feb, 1st, 2017. He was born in Prosser, WA on August 17, 1928 to Ethel Mae (Kaufman) and Mryvin Leon Stone. He retired as Sgt. Major from the U.S. Army after twenty seven years of service. He became a building contractor and owned and operated Stone Construction from 1984 to 1996. He also built and owned Riverside Storage in Prosser. He was an active member of the Prosser Eagles for fifty years and proudly served as Secretary and President.
He was survived by his wife, Beverly of 65 years, his four children Sandee VanWinkle (Randy) of Gold Canyon, AZ, Roger Stone of Prosser, Bob Stone of Prosser and Linda Sanford (Joe) of Pasco; four grandchildren, Chad VanWinkle, Jason VanWinkle, Cody Sanford and Kali Sanford Mata; ten great-grandchildren; brother Delbert Stone (Carol) of Grandview; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel & Mryvin Stone; brothers, Acy, Ronald, Kenneth and Elwood Stone.
A celebration of Life & potluck will be held Sunday, Feb 19th at 1:00pm at the Prosser Eagles, 1205 Bennett Ave. in Prosser. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Prosser. You may leave a message for the family at www.prosserfuneralhome.com
