Hubert “Tony” Baker passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the age of 80. He was born on October 5, 1931 in Osceola, Arkansas to James Oscar Baker and Clara Belle Stephens.
Tony was the 9th of twelve children. In 1958 he moved to Prosser, Washington where he found employment and married Irene Baker on November 11, 1959. He worked at the WSU Experiment Station and lived in Prosser for more than forty years, where he raised his family. In 1999, Tony suffered from health problems that required him to reside in a nursing home. Tony had many friends and loved to fish.
He is survived by his former wife, Irene of Prosser; his sons, Nate (Alex) Baker of Logan, UT and Kem (Pam) Baker of Spokane, WA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his son, Hubert Ray Baker and daughter, Tonya Baker.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 17 at the Prosser Cemetery.
