Harry Theodore "Ted" Schell was born Sunday December 3. 1933, in Yakima WA to Theodore "Ted" and Mira (Patterson) Schell. Ted went to be with the Lord on Monday February 28, 2022, in the comfort of his own home, in Prosser.
Ted was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather.
Ted was a loyal friend to everyone, he met the love of his life, Rose Marie Harris, while attending Prosser Assembly of God Church. July 27, 1957, Rose and Ted were married at his parents' home on the Roza, together raising their family for 64 years.
Ted started farming, growing potatoes and sugar beets on the Roza district. Then moved his family into town, where he went to work for Prosser Pack as a draftsman. He worked as a pipefitter at Westinghouse Hanford and then as a supervisor until his retirement. After retiring he just couldn't sit still and held several part time jobs, as well as starting his own tool sharping business " Schell's Sharpening Service". Ted loved to trap shoot and would tell many stories of competitions, and turkey shoots that he would attend and WIN. He was a long-time member of the Horse Heaven Sportsman Society.
Bowling was another sport that held his interest for many years. He even had a family team called "Ted's Troops". He was active in a league at the Sunnyside Valley Lanes until 2021. Ted loved to cook and was asked many times to be the head cook for the Walk to Emmaus retreats, plus many church events. His favorite meal was making "golden memories" for his family". We cannot leave out the love for hunting and fishing, and the many stories that came with them. One important memory was trying to teach his kids to "sneak quietly" up to the fishing hole. Ted accepted the Lord as a young man and served the Lord in many areas.
He was a member of Neighborhood Church in Sunnyside. The last several years, he would "double dip" as he liked to say, by attending Prosser Bethel Church for the early service, then heading to Sunnyside to attend service at Neighborhood Church.
Ted is survived by his wife, Rose (Harris) Schell, children T. Paul (Cheri) Schell, Daniel Schell, Diane (Allen) Jones, Janice Schell, Sandra (Randy) Groves.
