On June 26, 2015, Freada Schneider left this earth to join her husband, Howard, after thirteen years apart. Freada was a life-long resident of Prosser and member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was born in Prosser on May 17, 1931 to David and Pauline (Achziger) Hettich. She retired from Seneca Foods.
Freada enjoyed ruthless games of Rummikub with her three sisters that would keep them up all night laughing and calling each other “Cheater.” She also enjoyed shopping, and even if she was tired, she was always ready to go again. Freada was often heard to say “Have purse will travel”, especially when she was invited to go to Columbia Center and enjoy Ivar’s clam chowder with her family.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be deeply missed.
Freada is survived by her loving children, Linda and Bob Gravelle of Yakima, Cynthia and Randy Raver of Prosser, Howard Schneider (Nancie Bishop) of Prosser and Debra and Jeff Shields of Prosser; three grandchildren, Christopher Raver of Prosser, Jason Raver and his wife, Erika of West Richland and David Shields of Prosser; and soon to be born great-grandson, Jacob Wesley Raver in September. She is also survived by her special sisters, Emma Howe of Forks, WA; Mary (Don) Turner of Olympia; and Polli (Bob) Walsborn of Kennewick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Elizabeth; and her husband, Howard in 2002.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Prosser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 801 Luther Lane, Prosser, WA. Concluding services and burial will follow in the Prosser Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made through the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org/support.
