Elijio Flores Juarez, 93, of Prosser, Washington, passed away on March 10, 2015 in Prosser.
He was born on March 6, 1922 to Elijio and Refugia (Flores) Juarez in Carrizo Springs, Texas where he was raised and educated. He served in the U.S. Army for four years during World War II and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State and in the Philippines. He lived in the Prosser-Grandview area for over twenty years and worked as a farm laborer. In 1984, he retired from St. Michelle Winery after fifteen years.
He loved dancing and playing tournament pool. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagle’s Lodge and attended the Catholic Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Gloria Martinez and Rachel Baisa both of Prosser; son, Leonel Juarez of Texas; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Felipe Juarez of Illinois and Tony Juarez of Texas; sister, Eva Juarez of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Anita Diaz in 1965; his son, Elijio Juarez Jr.; one sister; and two brothers.
