Eileen Johnson Bradley, age 63, died accidentally after being struck by a car on her way home Tuesday, February 28th. Eileen was blind from birth due to prematurity. After marrying her childhood sweetheart (Stephen Bradley) and graduating with honors from USC, they moved to Prosser in 1971. There, Stephen worked and together they raised their family. Eileen was often seen walking with her children in the early years and most recently with Penelope, her youngest grandchild, strapped to her back in a baby carrier and cane in hand. She led a very active and full life. She devoted time to family, leading worship at Prosser First Baptist Church, and many years of volunteer work of music and bible study at both Prosser and Sunnyside assisted living facilities and Prosser Hospital Long Term Care. Her most recent joy was being a full time grandmother to Penelope while daughter Heather and her husband Erik worked. This was truly one of the happiest years of her life. Her lifetime accomplishments are too numerous to list. She loved her work and always put her heart and soul in all she did.
She leaves behind Stephen, husband of 43 years; children, Heather Hildahl (Erik) and Sean Bradley (Gina); parents, Wayne and Martha Johnson of Lake Elsinore CA; brother, Scott Johnson (Linda) Huntington Beach CA; grandchildren Jake, Drasen, Jaden, Judah, Lachlan, and Penelope; and many extended family members. A celebration of Eileen's life is scheduled on March 17, 2012, at the Church of the Nazarene in Grandview at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to be given to Lower Valley Hospice, Sign Fracture Care International, Samoa Medical/Dental Project (Steve will attend in August), and of course your own church. Arrangements and services are entrusted to Prosser Funeral Home and Crematory. Eileen went home to be with her Lord and Savior, to see him FACE TO FACE. She will be missed by all who loved her. The Bradley family would like to express how overwhelmed and touched they are by the love and support they are receiving by the entire community. Eileen would be honored to know how many loved her and were blessed by her life. We look forward to our grand reunion, with her, when we see her again. As Eileen would say, we love you and God Bless you.
